Eating Healthy is Very Important for Healthy Body - Greens

Salads are not given the proper credit it's due. Green vegetables are so great for our bodies most people don't value what they have in their local super market or even better, FARMacy :).

Historically it's proven again and again that many generations before us, were indeed very savvy of natural methods to heal the body, but it came down to what you put in your body to begin with. Eating right can greatly benefit your body as well heal it from damages done from past none healthy eating.

My diet consists of at least 50% greens, i try to steam it, eat it naturally ( after good wash). lettuces, Spinach, are two of my favorite snacks.

What are the benefits of greens ? well here check out this great info on it

Adding green leafy vegetables to your breakfast, lunch or dinner can help improve your diet and offer a great way to alkalize and balance most meals. Plus, their high fiber content sweeps out the entire digestive tract as they move through the stomach and colon.

This helps to provide regular bowel movements, moving undigested wastes and toxins out of the body. Most greens are cooling to the system, sooth inflammation and assist in the detoxification of heavy metals, plastics and chemicals present in the body and bloodstream.

Greens, like kale, collard, cilantro and spinach, are essentially balancing foods, helping to achieve healthier pH levels that guard against candida or parasites that thrive in acidic environments.

Dark leafy greens help to counteract the negative effects of heavier foods, acidic foods and sweet foods. They combined well with nuts and seeds, which tend to be more acidic.

Arugula

Arugula, which is also known as "rocket lettuce", has a spicy nut-like flavor that is truly unique among the variety of leafy greens. It is a calciferous green (high in calcium) known for it's anti-cancer compounds.

It is also a great source of folic acid, Vit A, C, magnesium, manganese, potassium, riboflavin, copper, iron and zinc. Arugula is a tasty addition to a salad for extra special spiciness.
Collard Greens

Collard greens are an amazing source of vitamins like: B6, C (one cup provides 70% RDA), carotenes, manganese, Vit. B1, B2 and E. Collard includes minerals like: copper, calcium and copper.

Collard leaves are great for rolling raw burritos and their flavor is nicely balanced with savory foods like seed cheese or nut pates, for those adhering to a raw vegan diet.
Kale

Kale is considered the "queen of greens." There are many varieties of kale availabe. Our favorite, by far, is "dino kale" for it's super dark green color and softer texture. One way to eat kale "raw" is marinated in a raw kale salad for a delicious nutritious meal.

Some people can be sensitive to eating it uncooked, but usually marinating or blending helps to break it down and makes it easier to digest. The other option is to lightly steam it (just enough that it still retains a bright green color).

Kale is an especially beneficial source of vitamin A, vitamin C and calcium. It is also a rich source of the antioxidant vitamin K.
